Energy Cities is coordinating the MODEL project which aims at reducing the energy gap in the European Union and beyond by helping volunteer local authorities become models for their own citizens and other municipalities.

MODEL has started in 2007 with the support of the Intelligent Energy Europe programme and has set up a common framework methodology that was implemented in 43 pilot cities from New Member States and Croatia.
These webpages, available in 9 languages, will show you the project main activities and results as well as a wide range of practical tools that are useful for developing local energy efficient policies.
The MODEL project is now addressing 6 new pilot cities from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
Thanks to the support of the CIUDAD programme they will also become models in energy management for their citizens and other municipalities in the ENPI region.
Follow their progress and find out how your own municipality can benefit from their work!
